We created titles, interstitials, and end credits for Motion’s final conference through a process of creative collaboration, improvisational design, and in-camera VFX.

For 12 years, the Motion “un-conference” celebrated the art of motion design and the community of creatives who move it forward.

Our concept for the titles aimed to offer up something different, honest, and tactile—using live in-camera effects, projected animations, and experimental cinematography to tell a story about the origins of Motion. Our team worked closely with Christopher Webb of FX WRX to shoot abstractions of the logo hand-made made from MDF, cardboard, stone, and metal. The sequence was achieved through an improvised performance acted out by on set by our animators. I composed the original score for the piece.
