Acorn TV
Brand Identity

Studio: Trollbäck+Company
Role: Chief Creative Officer

We redesigned Acorn TV to elevate perception of the brand’s curated content, position the service for international growth, and prepare for acquisition by AMC Networks.

Our goal was to develop a refined strategic, verbal, and visual identity that modernizes and draws attention to the brand while retaining the quirky, sophisticated character of its passionate fandom.

Acorn TV’s new design plants a flag in an exciting world of high-quality, cross-genre content. Our updated logo, palette, and art deco-inspired typeface retain Acorn TV’s quirky, classic brand character while modernizing the service’s legacy. An adaptive “flag” graphic device—telegraphing the platform’s international offering—acts as a dynamic showcase for Acorn TV originals, genres, marathons, and collections. Post-refresh, Acorn TV joined the AMC Networks family and successfully expanded into more than 30 countries, with an audience-focused strategy that has earned it one of the lowest churn rates of any streamer in the market today.
